News/Special Interest Websites
News and Special Interest websites that have related content sections are where most people end up who have clicked on a link from a social network. Rather than relying on demographics, these websites sell the related content sections to content discovery platforms like OutBrain, Taboola and RevContent. These platforms place a cookie file on their website visitor’s browsers to learn about what they are interested in so that they can better serve them content in the related content section of their site. This content is paid for and can be a really great platform to use for your Top Funnel content.
Based on what each online hang out is primarily used for, their demographics and what other brands and influencers are popular on those platforms, you can pair up your personas with where they most likely hang out online.
